History

Colmar began its activity in 1963, thanks to the idea of two gentlemen who started producing machines for the earth-moving and agricultural sector by assembling different parts of military machines left by the American army after World War II.

In 1967, the first Colmar Railroad Loader was produced. The machine was used in the construction of the Rome-Venice railroad line in Italy.

In 1968, Colmar Italy produced the first semi-mobile industrial loader designed to lift heavy loads by installing a rotating cabin on a lorry chassis.

In the early 70’s, Colmar Italy, owing to the experience gathered in the sector of earth moving machines, increased and widened its product range. Furthermore significant improvements of the design procedures aimed to spur the production of industrial loaders and of equipment manufactured for the construction and maintenance of railroads.

In order to expand its product range for the metal recycling business during the 90’s, Colmar Italy began the manufacturing of Balers and Shear Balers for ferrous and non-ferrous scrap. In 2000, Colmar Italy obtained the ISO 9001:1994 Certification, the highest European Standard of Quality Control Manufacturing.

In 2009, Colmar presented its newest stationary shear baler, the EAGLE 1000. One of our largest and strongest shear balers we have in our line.
